The tech discrepancies between Limerick county council meetings (Dooradoyle vs Adare-Rathkeale) is crazy. What a treat to be able to actually hear people, not to mind see them too at today’s full council meeting. What a time.

Incredibly disappointing to see @limerickpost recent irresponsible reporting on suicide. Even more concerning is their refusal to alter or remove it after being contacted on the seriousness of the matter numerous times.

Hello @limerickpost your recent coverage of suicide related events flies in the face of almost every media guideline for responsibly reporting on suicide. Do the right thing, remove these “stories” and do better.

One simple thing media outlets can do to reduce the harm in reports on murder-suicide is to close their comment sections. Absolutely nothing helpful happens there.

Recent reporting on murder-suicide in Ireland has been grim. The level of speculation and detail is unnecessary and downright harmful. We need to do better than this.

Build your own timeline, eliminate the bot/toxic junkyard content and find fun and thoughtful community again. It could be similar to our prior internet corner, if we make it so.
