I started my novel a couple months ago, made good progress, hit a wall. Could not think of what to write next for ages. Took it up again today and the wall is gone! I know how it all plays out. I might have a full first draft ready by new years! I’m so happy :)

There’s only one way to select for integrity in the people around you:
don’t assume anyone who makes you feel bad is a bad person, and anyone who makes you feel good is a good person

emotionally immature people will meet someone who’s really good at making them feel better and think “omg they’re so high EQ and mature!” You will ruin your life by conflating emotional maturity with the willingness to simply tell you what you wanna hear

The greatest stories have parallels between characters
Between their ideals and even physical natures
Their backstories
And even how they develop, fall and rise
Even characters all reaching for the same goal can parallel their struggles for it.

Lack of success usually comes from not wanting to become isolated from the crowd. When you become successful family, friends, etc treat & see you differently. You can no longer relate to majority of people & this creates loneliness. Entrepreneurs will self sabotage just to fit in

@divya_venn Agree with this since I was the same in HS. Constant reminders this year that I have the capacity to really get whatever I want if I ask for it. Been throwing myself into situations off the idea I’ll just figure it out
And a lot of it has worked out.

my life has been spent avoiding prestige out of cowardice.
I got depressed in HS and didn't apply to any top schools bc I thought i wasnt good enough. then in uni I didn't apply to any big companies bc I didn't go to a top school.
i talk a lot about courage bc I lack it.

social media is the ultimate meritocracy. it really is. u can be totally self-taught and educate more people in one year than a ph.D. at an ivy league does in his whole career.

@MasterTimBlais I don’t think talking about how guys treat you poorly is high status, I think it’s quite low status actually. Biggest flex is never having had that problem.
