It doesn't mean they eat different foods because they're deficient, it can be for a multitude of reasons. They just can't subsist of an only non-meat diet. Read a book before giving advice.

She was taken care of, well fed and to some extent spoiled, but if you were cutting cucumber, she would come running, rub against your leg and paw at you for a slice. Last I checked cucumbers aren’t meat.
