Our partners shared progress and next steps toward developing a lithium niobate–empowered silicon nitride platform for fragmentation-free operation in the visible and near-infrared spectrum. 🌍 From 24–28 August 2025, the photonics community meets in Delft for the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (EOSAM 2025). In the EU Project Session, Dr. Homa Zarebidaki (@CSEMInfo) will present the ELENA Project (@h2020_elena), a Horizon 2020 initiative building a coherent European supply chain for thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic integrated circuits. Alongside ELENA, she will also highlight the @LolipopProject, where we are advancing polarization-based photonic integration using silicon nitride and lithium niobate. 🎯 𝗟𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗢𝗣 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 #𝟰 👉 @LolipopProject is developing CMOS electronics with low power consumption and high bandwidth (up to 30 GHz) to drive the hybrid TriPleX PICs. 🎯 𝐋𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐎𝐏 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 #𝟯 👉 LOLIPOP Project is designing active elements and external cavity lasers (ECLs) on the hybrid TriPleX platform – delivering ultra-narrow linewidth (<10 kHz), wide tunability (up to 60 nm) and operation at 780, 905 and 1064 nm! As part of the @LolipopProject, our team presented the poster: “𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆-𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗡𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆-𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆” 🔍 In this work, we demonstrated a hybrid photonic module combining thin-film lithium niobate and silicon nitride, enabling wavelength conversion from 1560 nm to 780 nm.
