Deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Khushbaz Singh Jattana. Just yesterday, he spoke with hope about the future - today, we are left mourning a profound loss.
His absence is heartbreaking and beyond words. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
You will always be remembered.

Attended the book signing of The Battle of Narnaul by Kulpreet Yadav and Madhur Rao today.
An engaging and thought-provoking account that brings to light an important yet lesser-known chapter of our freedom struggle. Always encouraging to see such meticulous research and storytelling spark meaningful conversations around history.
Congratulations to the authors on this significant work, and my best wishes for its wide readership.

Had the pleasure of hosting Colonel Pritpal Singh (13 Garhwal Rifles), and his son, at my home in village Badal - a war veteran and battle casualty who served with distinction during Operation Pawan (IPKF, Sri Lanka). He lost his left eye in a mine blast, yet his spirit and dedication to the nation remain unshaken.
Our discussions on the Lankan campaign were both humbling and deeply enlightening. Listening to soldiers like him reminds us of the immense sacrifices made quietly in the service of our great nation.
For centuries, Punjab has sent its finest sons into the face of great danger to defend India’s ancient and noble civilisation. All we have ever asked in return is enough land to bury those sons who could not return alive.
Let us pray that the coming generations continue to live up to the martial traditions of this ancient land, with the same courage, honour, and devotion to duty. 🇮🇳

While on the campaign trail in Tarn Taran, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to visit Sur Singh village - a place deeply woven into the fabric of Sikh history and the legacy of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.
It was here that Guru Sahib briefly camped, and Bhai Bhag Mal offered his haveli and land (~1000 bighas) in humble service to the Guru. That haveli still stands today, preserved along with the historic Gurudwara Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.
What makes this place truly special is that the descendants of Bhai Bidhi Chand Chhina, one of the greatest warriors and devotees of Guru Sahib, who was honoured with the title “Guru da Seena”, now in their 12th generation, continue to live here, performing sewa and carrying forward the Guru’s message.
Sur Singh today stands not just as a village, but as a living symbol of devotion, courage, and community spirit - a shining example of the Majha region’s cultural and religious heritage.
My deep reverence to Guru Sahib and to the defenders of our faith.

I discovered an evocative piece of history at Village Noordin in Taran Taaran, Punjab. A Mughal-era mausoleum built around 1654 along the old Delhi–Lahore highway, once serving travelers and traders on their journeys.
This remarkable relic stands as a silent testament to our rich history, yet it sadly remains neglected. Despite being listed as a “protected monument” under the Punjab Ancient Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites & Remains Act since 2016, the site continues to deteriorate.
Like the Romans, Greeks, and Egyptians, we too must cherish and preserve the treasures of our own past.
