#TereoMāori has been one of the official languages of #Aotearoa/#NewZealand since 1987, but there is no legal requirement for bilingual signs. The one below is an exception, but this could soon change and Aotearoa/New Zealand could have bilingual signage by 2023 @MooreInst

This is a bilingual sign in English and #TokPisin in #PapuaNewGuinea. But that’s not all - this country is the most linguistically diverse in the world. It has 832 living languages, but only Tok Pisin, English, Hiri Motu, and Sign Language have statutory recognition @MooreInst

#SouthAfrica has 11 official languages! English is used as a lingua franca throughout the country and as the government's and media's main language. But the main spoken languages are Afrikaans, Zulu and Xhosa, two of the nine #Bantu languages recognised by the government.
