They can give plenty of reasons. All emotional. There are no logical or logistical reasons why he shouldn't be executed. The only alternative is subsidizing the rest of his useless life with taxpayer dollars. That is not punishment. That is free room and board, free food and free med for the rest of his life at your, and my expense.

I am challenging any death penalty opponent — there are millions of them, allegedly — to step up to the plate right now and explain why this guy should not be executed.
