🚨 BREAKING: Potomac TRACON, the key radar facility handling D.C. airspace, has been evacuated to “ATC ZERO” according to FAA alerts. The FAA is now implementing ground stops for flights to Reagan National, Dulles, BWI, Charlottesville and Richmond airports.

Jacque Vaughn was brought to KU, in part, to be the next HC in the event Self retires. Bill has more than earned the right to make this decision on his own timeline & terms. Wouldn’t shock me at all to see him retire.

Self has been dealing with a significant heart issue the last two years. His doctors have told him he is healthy enough to coach but he is leaving some wiggle room here. Wouldn't trust too much what a person says after such an emotional loss but this is a little further than he has gone to suggest he might be done.

Both Euro and GFS now showing a strong westerly wind burst in the next 7-10 days, with trades actually reversing to raw westerlies at the dateline in both models. This is likely to induce yet another downwelling Kelvin Wave and increase the likelihood of our upcoming El Niño being a strong event.
