After a long day delivering across Clarendon and reporting local issues I cant wait to sit down and cheer on the Lionesses! Bring football home (again)! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Whilst Reform focus on flags, I'll continue to focus on the issues that matter for local residents.

🏥 A full day session with health colleagues from across the county, as well as officers from across the council on all the efforts that are underway to embed preventative, community care, enabled by digital transformation.

The last two weeks have all been about health and wellbeing. Here's what I've been up to:

Cllr Finch, your party received a minority of votes so don't act like you have a mandate to bully a highly respected civil servant. Instead, bring it to Council and see whether you can pass a different one. I'll gladly debate against it! 🇬🇧🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

The drama of Warwickshire Reform goes on... This morning I was at the Social Care Scrutiny Committee where 2 out of 4 Reform positions are still not filled, now we have a gap in leadership... warwickshire.gov.uk/news/article/6…

🏛️ So, overall we have the government pushing local authorities to hike council tax, whilst they fail to alleviate the largest financial risk all councils face. Another letdown from Labour...

🚸 SEND - There was no mention of the statutory override which allows the council to hold deficits in order to deliver SEND services. This will end next Spring and could lead local authorities to become insolvent. There'll be a white paper in the autumn before we get any answers.

So we're almost a month on from the election and we finally have a cabinet... Or at least most of one! 🏛️ The Reform Leader of the Council is back from his holiday and has appointed the portfolio holders who have huge powers over how the council spends it's money.
