@Liverpoolshell And, yet, disabled people do feel the need to explain. Old disability activist me refused to. But perhaps revealing the realities behind government rhetoric is useful? While I am a big fan of supporting disabled people to work, threatening us into it is counter-productive.

Did a 15 hour day yesterday. Hips and knees were stressed by travelling in my wheelchair to a conference. Mostly I can wfh but even then just daily living exhausts me. I can do this only with a lot of support. (Partly from Access to Work). Feel on the brink of collapse. 1)

Working gives me a sense of satisfaction and pride. It confirms my sense of myself as a Disabled Person. It comes at a price though. In pain. In my hold on my environment. No-one should be forced to pay this. Work is hard for all. For people who find a shower a challenge? 2)

@goatchurch There are individual Israelis who want Israel to be from the River to the Sea. To me the evidence seems to show that Israeli policy isn't that. If that changes my opinion changes also. I am against genocide whoever proposes it. Wars of self defence I am open minded on.

@MaxZadow You know I asked about the "announced objective" of the side that has the artillery, bomber force, and so far a 10 to 1 kill ratio in their favour. It's a whole other issue if you feel you want to justify it. I want to know if words like Amalek sound like genocide to you yet.

Just want to check with @MaxZadow if this is genocidey enough for you to notice? The most important difference between these guys and Hamas is they can and are delivering on their promise. Or do words still speak louder than actions to you?

This has to stop. And I say that as someone who argues with anti-Israelis constantly. If Israel can't arrest Hamas without killing civilians in this way then they have to call a halt.

Ignore the headline - this is a positive story. The changes are to allow driver training, which has to happen to introduce the new trains. The plan (as has happened with every other line) is to start rolling them out on the Southport line in the coming weeks.

It is getting scary. If we don't condemn the rising Islamophobia we are dead as a society. Criticising Hamas has become an excuse to target British citizens for entirely homegrown prejudice.

@postcue @GingStoned @ShaykhSulaiman This may seem strange to you but it is a form of Jewish religious celebration. It is religious and not secular. If Jews and Muslims are to live together and share holy places there needs to toleration of each other's ways.

@Richard_Amm As a youth me and my disabled friends called ourself Raspberries. We preffered it to the then fashionable crip. And less chance of being confused with a street gang. I still rather like the word. We should reclaim it properly. Our gay or queer.

On Sep 13, 1944, a princess from India lay dead at Dachau concentration camp. She had been tortured by the Nazis and then shot in the head. Her name was Noor Inayat Khan. The Germans knew her only as Nora Baker, a British spy who had gone into occupied France using the code name Madeline. She carried her transmitter from safe house to safe house with the Gestapo trailing her, providing communications for her Resistance unit. Wireless operators in France had a life expectancy of six weeks. Noor was actively transmitting for over three times as long. While she was in France, every other wireless operator in her network was slowly picked off until she was the last radio link between London and Paris. It was "the most dangerous and important post in France." She was offered a way back to Britain and refused. In fact, in her transmissions to London, she once said that she was having the time of her life, and thanked them for giving her the opportunity to do this. She was captured by the Gestapo, but never gave up; she made three attempts at escape. One involved asking to take a bath, insisting on being allowed to close the door to preserve her modesty, and then clambering onto the roof of the Gestapo HQ in Paris. Her last word before being shot was, "Liberté!"

I will not be attending the march against antisemitism unless I have a guarantee that Tommy Robinson (Stanley Yelnats or whatever his real name is) will be banned from attending. We owe it to our Muslim allies to condemn and reject racist nazis

As I said from the stage yesterday ,we believe that the struggle against all forms of racism including antisemitism, Islamophobia and Israel's system of apartheid are indivisible. You are not an antiracist unless you oppose all of them

Some thoughts on the march yesterday: 1) Even by police estimates this was one of the largest 3 marches in British history. We believe there were at least 800k there and we know many coaches got stuck in traffic and didn't reach the start.
