Miami Stingrays Softball

The Miami Stingrays wrapped up the Backwards K Showcase undefeated by beating the Santa Fe Inferno 3-2. Destiney Ortega pitched the complete game to earn the win 💪 Caylee Cerda led the offense going 2-2 with 2 RBIs. With two outs, and the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th, Lani Gonzalez ripped a double to the center field fence, and then Cerda hit a laser to left field to bring in the go ahead run. Kaley Dyer also hit a double in the game, and Ava Stevens added a hit.

The Miami Stingrays look to finish out the weekend strong at the Backwards K Showcase in Newberry, as they take the field this morning against the Santa Fe Inferno. Leading their pool, going 4-0 so far, the team has been on fire!

The Miami Stingrays defeated the Florida Bolts this afternoon by a score of 3-0. Cheyanne Chaffin pitched the complete game shutout striking out 8 and surrendering only 1 hit. Danbee Kim, Caylee Cerda, Kaley Dyer, and Abi Barboza each had a hit in the game and Lani Gonzalez was productive in her two at bats with a walk and a sac fly. The team will now face the Santa Fe Inferno tomorrow morning at 9:00am.

The Miami Stingrays defeated Florida Gold by a score of 8-0 this morning. 7 different players recorded hits in the game including doubles from Lani Gonzalez and Cheyanne Chaffin. Destiney Ortega pitched the complete 4 inning game surrendering only 1 hit. The team plays again at 1:30PM against Impact Caymol.

The Miami Stingrays defeated the BK JUCO Transfer Showcase team today by a score of 9-1. Cheyanne Chaffin earned the win pitching two scoreless innings and striking out three, and Destiney Ortega came in to pick up the save. Kayla Diaz and Chaffin were both 2-2, and Ortega was 1-1 with a walk. Alana McLaughlin added her 2nd double on the day, and Danbee Kim and Carley Hernandorena had hits as well. The Stingrays will take the field again tomorrow at 10:30am against Florida Gold.

The Miami Stingrays 16U Gold team opened up the Backwards K tournament this morning with an 8-0 win over Tampa Mustangs RT. Ava Stevens pitched the complete 4 inning game to earn the win, striking out 3. Stevens was also 2-2 with 2 runs scored. Alana McLaughlin and Lani Gonzalez were both 1-1 with a double and a hbp, together the duo collected 5 RBIs. Danbee Kim, Kayla Diaz, and Abi Barboza also had hits in the game. The team will take the field at noon against the BK Juco Transfer team.

The Miami Stingrays 16U Gold team was crowned Co Champion of the PGF Super Grand in Georgia after rain cut the tournament short. Winning 4 games on Sunday to remain undefeated in Bracket Play, these girls were on fire 🔥 Welcome Back @KaleyDyer5 who is now fully recovered from her ACL reconstruction and wasting no time making a major impact 💪 #StingrayNation @PGFnetwork

Great weekend competing with the @MiamiSoftball in Dalton, GA at the @PGF #SuperGrand We battled our way into the Final Four before weather cut the tournament short. Proud of every teammate who played a part in our success this weekend! Also here are some of my highlights and stats. Stats: 20 IP | 21 K | 4 ER | 1.40 ERA | .171 BAA

And they did it again! The Miami Stingrays 16U Gold comes from behind to defeat Unity Torres by a score of 3-2! Cheyanne Chaffin pitched the complete game to earn the win, striking out 5! Down by 1 in the bottom of the sixth, Lani Gonzalez led off with her 4th home run of the weekend, and Caylee Cerda followed with a ground rule double over the center field fence. With two outs Kaley Dyer drove in the winning run with a shot to center field 💪 Dyer and Cerda were each 2-3 in the game. Ava Stevens and Kayla Diaz also collected hits in the victory! The team now heads to the semi finals! Game starting soon!

Miami Stingrays 16U Gold walked it off against Armor Elite Premier with a final score of 4-3! Destiney Ortega pitched the complete game to earn the win! Abi Barboza had the game winning hit to drive in Kaley Dyer 💪 Dyer brought in 2 runs in the inning to tie it up at 3, before ultimately scoring the game winning run! Barboza was 2-2 on the day, Danbee Kim was 2-3, and 5 other girls had hits in what was a true team win! The team will now face Unity Torres in the quarterfinals.

In game 2 today, the Miami Stingrays 16U Gold defeated Fury National by a score of 9-0 in 5 innings. Cheyanne Chaffin pitched a gem, going the complete game, striking out 10 and surrendering only 1 hit. The bats stayed hot, adding another 13 hits on the day. Layla Ortiz led the way, going 3-3 with a triple, and Ava Stevens, Danbee Kim, Carley Hernandorena, and Kayla Diaz each had 2 hits. Lani Gonzalez hit her 3rd home run of the weekend with a 2 run blast in the 3rd inning, and Hernandorena hit a towering home run over the centerfield fence in the 4th, putting the game out of reach. The team will now take on Armor Elite Premier at 1:15pm.

Miami Stingrays 16U Gold opened up bracket play today at the Super Grand with a 12-0 victory over AP Smith. Destiney Ortega earned the win, pitching 2 scoreless, hitless innings, striking out 3, and Ava Stevens and Sierra Sterling each threw an inning to close out the game. The offense was on fire, unloading 11 hits in the 4 inning game. Danbee Kim was 2-2 with 2 runs scored, Kayla Diaz and Carley Hernandorena were each 2-3 with a double, a run, and an RBI, and Lani Gonzalez and Caylee Cerda each hit Home Runs. Jas Armenteros also collected 3 RBIs in the game, with a double in the first inning that helped the team jump out to an early lead.

Miami Stingrays 16U Gold opened up day 2 of the Super Grand with an offensive explosion, defeating Unity Bryan Jones by a score of 17-3. The offense was led by Jas Armenteros who went 3-3 with 4 RBIs and a Grand Slam!!! 💪 Alana McLaughlin went 2-2 with 3 RBIs, Ava Stevens went 2-3, and Kayla Diaz blasted a 3RBI double in the bottom of the 2nd to start the scoring. Cheyanne Chaffin pitched 3 scoreless innings to earn the win and Sierra Sterling earned the save. Game 2 of the day is underway against Team NC Yates.
