Your question wasn’t smart @ShelaghFogarty. It was patronising, ill mannered & ill-informed. You asked Professor @s_m_marandi, why Iran’s Supreme Leader isn’t doing daily TV appearances like the US president, while knowing very well, but ignoring that Iranian leaders, commanders & scientists have been openly targeted (himself threatened) for assassination since the start of this war. Those are not comparable situations. Of course the Iranian leader is protected. His country is under attack. His father was assassinated a few weeks ago, together with his wife, children & relatives. If this was your “gotcha,” it didn’t land. It exposed a total lack of understanding, delivered with condescension. As Marandi put it plainly: “Maybe it’s because your country is attacking our country.” In case you were unaware, the UK is actively supporting that campaign by providing air bases for B-2 bombers to load weapons & fly missions against Iran. It’s easy to sound confident from a studio. It’s harder to ask informed questions about a war you’re not living through. Tone matters. Context matters. And so do the questions being asked. The double standard is obvious. Stop pretending otherwise. @LBC

Honestly at this point UK prices are just made up: How is a return train to London £170? How is a "cheap" weekend away in England suddenly £600 when I could fly abroad for that. How did £700 rent turn into £1500 for the same house? Why does my car insurance rise every year on the same car with no claims? And since when did two bags of shopping come to nearly £100?
