I was proud to again vote against Bill C-9 and stand with the many Canadians who raised serious concerns about its impact on freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and freedom of conscience. Despite widespread opposition and significant concerns raised throughout the legislative process, the Liberal government pushed this bill through the House of Commons. While amendments were made in the Senate, I remain concerned about the precedent this legislation sets and the potential consequences for fundamental freedoms in Canada. Canadians deserve laws that do not undermine the rights and freedoms that form the foundation of our democracy.
