No borderland opposition force can stop catestrophic airstrikes or stabilize its territory unless it either makes a deal with or defeats the Tatmadaw in central Myanmar. But opposition gains are so huge that the junta probably cannot accept them, making talks more unlikely.

@Kingofquee74614 They have an economic advantage because the military system is isolated and disconnected from the “real” economy. Adding more sanctions just reinforces their leverage over time.

How do i know this cat is a Westerner? Simple. It speaks of what Burmese people want with such certitude that is pervasive in westerners in Myanmar. Most burmese i speak to don't know what to make of sanctions. They do know for sure they don't want $$$ going to the SAC

@MarkFarmaner Myanmar people living in the country are not in the activists’ bubble in, let’s say, London. They know sanctions do not work and are not calling for them. Instead, they want to work precisely because the situation is terrible.

But that was the only time.
