@NCAMastermind

Formerly a statesman. Now a sad man. Single most consequential President (not 'State Counsellor') in my country's history. Retweets are endorsed by EBO.

Ah yes. Threatening to kill yourself unless your financially dependent partner promises to stay with you forever, as a test to see if they love you. The art of the deal.

That said, Berkeley isn't doing much better on this front...perhaps all of bourgeois academia is simply cooked, as the kids say.

@morgmichaels The Audacity of Caucacity. Didn't u claim opposition momentum was slowing post-1027 & junta had eager conscription recruits? In any other field, being this wrong disqualifies one as an 'expert,' yet here u r confidently speaking on a topic u clearly know v little abt. Shameless.

@xanthu15 Yes! She came out and condemned in no absolute terms the military's atrocities on many seperate occasions. Mainstream media won't report this.

@NCAMastermind Hi smarty, ASSK defended indeed the nation of Myanmar at the International Court of Justice in The Hague against CHARGES of genocide. However, it is a lie and hugely misleading that she "defended military genocide". You get the difference?

Indeed. The one who showed up at the Hague to defend the charges was a DASSK-lookalike KaPaSa-made robot assembled with Russian help. Mainstream media won't tell you this but I will. So will Sun Thu.

As expected, wannabe #Myanmar expert Ronan Lee is still lying and can't get the facts straight. No, Ronan, Aung San Suu Kyi has NOT "defended military genocide against Rohingya Muslims." #WhatsHappeninglnMyanmar

@MThibu @Kingofquee74614 How is it disconnected? It implies it is a loop with the same value circulating ? How does it then confer an advantage? Surely that must be a disadvantage. I know u r just a cat but when u wade into public issues, u cannot just wantonly spew bs

@Kingofquee74614 They have an economic advantage because the military system is isolated and disconnected from the “real” economy. Adding more sanctions just reinforces their leverage over time.

While diplomats in the Yangon bubble tell Myanmar people that the sanctions they are calling for will hurt ordinary people and they know best, this is the economic, humanitarian and human rights catastrophe in the rest of the country: data.unhcr.org/en/country/mmr

How do i know this cat is a Westerner? Simple. It speaks of what Burmese people want with such certitude that is pervasive in westerners in Myanmar. Most burmese i speak to don't know what to make of sanctions. They do know for sure they don't want $$$ going to the SAC
Ma Thibu@MThibu

@MarkFarmaner Myanmar people living in the country are not in the activists’ bubble in, let’s say, London. They know sanctions do not work and are not calling for them. Instead, they want to work precisely because the situation is terrible.

@cvdom2021 You clearly do not know what you are talking about. Kalar is always used to put people down and remind them of their lowly status. You claim to represent CDM but u r so backward on the most basic issues that you are more aligned with MaBaTha.

Civil Disobedience Movement
(5/5) Countering the state's construction of 'others' with neoliberal, superficial measures by digital platforms won’t improve the material conditions of the Rohingya. Not disagreeing to the other points made in the post by prof. @_e_pf_ , this post is specifically about 'Kalar'.

Civil Disobedience Movement
(1/5) Providing a dissenting opinion here: 'Kalar' is not inherently an insult and does not carry the same socio-historical weight as the N-word in the West. Up until 2014, the term referred to everyone of South Asian origin and has been used to describe anyone from the -

speaking of the MIMU maps, and about crazy: - MIMU inscribes on their maps a word that Rohingya see as a slur, just b/c the state does. - The state also includes information on NaTaLa villages, which tells us exactly the location of its 1990s dispossession / colonization project

@MThibu @YanGoonReborn @NCAMastermind For everyone except the biggest guys, there was a time, between 2018 to 2020, when it was possible to use bank transfers instead of Hawala/hundi, because transaction costs were cheaper and there wasn't rate differential between market vs official. But that was the only time.

@YanGoonReborn @NCAMastermind Not that we are aware of. At least for data publicly available. But the recent move around passports is also a way to enforce things indirectly - "show me you paid your tax and that you remitted X% of your income, else I won't renew your passport." And this is happening.

This hit piece places all onus of responsibility on #AA @TwanMrat, including the emerging alliance between SAC & Rohingya militants. It shows, how Western pundits favour a particular narrative while being clueless about the political dynamics in #Rakhine #whatshappeninginMyanmar
Zachary Abuza@ZachAbuza

The AA is arguably the strongest ERO fighting the junta, and now controls most of northern Rakhine. Their targeting of the Rohingya population may play well politically in the short run, but the AA needs to think about the long game. My take. rfa.org/english/commen…
