#WestNileVirus and #EasternEquineEncephalitis continue to be detected in mosquito batches in NH. Residents are again reminded that it takes two hard frosts to kill off mosquitoes, and insect repellent should continue to be worn when spending time outdoors.

#WestNileVirus has been detected in mosquitoes collected from Nashua and Keene. Home and business owners are urged to be aware of stagnant water on property (e.g. unused swimming pools) and to clean roof gutters so that rainwater cannot collect in them.

NH DHHS has detected #WestNileVirus in a mosquito batch in Manchester. This is the first positive arbovirus detection in NH for 2018. Residents and visitors should use insect repellents such as those that contain 20-30% DEET and limit outdoor exposure at dawn and dusk.
