i’ve been living in this city for 22 years. i pay taxes here, and i pay vehicle fees to the city council. every decision the city council makes affects me just like it affects male’ residents. but i’m still forced to vote for an island council i haven’t even set foot in for 9 years.

not voting doesn’t help the country (or anyone) … and it definitely isn’t “cool”🤷‍♀️ the ballot is one of the few real powers rayyithumeehaar still has. should use it. at least you’ll live with conviction, knowing you said YES/NO to that person, that policy, or that change. 👌

Just saw a voter cast their ballot in the wrong box, and the EC official didn't bother to instruct them until after it was done. box: t3.2. this is bad.

they hand you a bundle of ballot papers One for the referendum One for the city council One for the WDC you drop each into separate boxes. this setup can be confusing and exhausting for elderly voters and those with limited mobility or mental faculties. 😥

Addu people will complain all day about not having proper airport, not getting very basic medicine and not having access to electricity, then go and vote for gvt candidate, the same gvt who won’t even acknowledge or even floor these issues on the parliament.
