@NateStateU @ThirdLegLegette I want both but this is also an issue with the way the media covers the game. Like ESPN used to put care behind each bowl broadcast. Remember CapitalOne Bowl Mania? Now there’s no fanfare. It’s lazy and purposeful.

The “games aren’t meaningful because of a big Playoff” logic is such a new fallacy. Imagine saying the 2009 Oregon State-Oregon game for a spot in the Rose Bowl didn’t matter because neither team could make the national championship. I need national media to be serious for once.

This has been an opinion of mine forever. And extends far beyond the Jags. Nostalgia blinds people. If the left was the old Jags logo and the right was the new one, people would be outraged.

@ThirdLegLegette @NateStateU Both can be true. We now have a way to crown a true champion and also have storylines aside from the Playoff that matters. The way the media is covering the game is flawed and appeals to casuals

@NateStateU What if I told you a game like that would be meaningful for reasons outside of the Playoff. Like Minnesota winning their first game at the Rose Bowl since the Kennedy Administration or UCLA avenging their 1963 Rose Bowl loss. Playoff-centric mindset takes away from this
