A movement to make mental wellness a priority

We went into the Mental Health Awareness Session with Dr. Sedem Amedome, a psychologist at the Ho Technical University, who brought a powerful perspective to our students at OLA SHS. "When you have a headache, you visit a clinic. But where do you go when your heart feels 1/4

heavy or your thoughts won’t stop racing?" The students didn't hold back. We talked about the real-life stressors they face every day: ❌ The pressure of understanding complex Physics lessons. ❌ The struggle of balancing heavy schoolwork with house chores. 2/4

❌ The silent impact of bullying, rumors, and name-calling. Seeking help isn't a sign of weakness—it’s the ultimate sign of strength. Whether it’s talking to a trusted counselor or standing up for a peer being bullied, building a support network is how we stay resilient. 3/4

At Fafa, we don’t just build features; we build solutions based on real student experiences. By collecting this data, we’re ensuring that the Fafa App continues to grow into the exact support system for all our users 💜 A huge thank you to the students for their openness 2/3

Before we dived into the solutions, we wanted to understand the reality. Our Lead Facilitator, Joanna Kwame, guided the OLA SHS students through a survey session to gather their honest perspectives on mental health and school life. 1/3

From beautiful house song renditions to nostalgic hymns and clapping, the students brought the energy right from the start. We transformed the hall into a judgment-free zone for Mental health awareness education, honest conversations about stress, anxiety, and well-being 2/3
