So you could actually make the same case for for many Europeans, despite the fact that Europeans spread Christianity around the world via colonization and conquest. But in my view this is highly impractical, given these religions show significant staying power once they take root, no matter how they do.

Decolonization also means not adopting the religion of those who colonized you
