RAF Typhoon scrambling last night to deal with the Drones at ##rafakrotiri

A small Drone has impacted the airfield at RAF Akrotiri and all agencies are responding. There are no casualties but there is minor damage. However the incident is ongoing.

I’m often asked my opinion on the regimental system and I know some are against the idea. Here’s why I believe it’s vitally important. Sharing with permission of the SP and his family. Meet Sgt Rowlands, a great Welsh Guardsman from Holyhead. Currently employed in ITC Catterick. Aged 37, Rowly has unfortunately experienced three strokes in 7 weeks, he’s currently left mostly blind and without full motion in the left side of his body. Due our Regimental Charity and the funding I receive from our trustees I’ve been able to help the following way. - Purchased a white stick to replace the poor issues one - Accommodated his family twice in an Air BnB so they could visit him. The best bit is last week I was able to purchase a VR headset, presented to Rowly by the Commanding Officer. Rowly is currently at home watching Netflix on his VR headset, for the first time in 8 weeks he is able to see something and watch some sort of normality. He will be watching the Kings Birthday Parade this Saturday. Our charity also employs a Veterans Officer so when the time comes for me to hand him over when he finally leaves the service he will be properly cared for and transitioned into civilian life.
