Today, we’re joined by Moin from Standing Tall, a brilliant charity offering opportunities to our service users 👏 Standing Tall supports people experiencing homelessness and those in insecure housing helping them move towards safe accommodation and stable employment.

The Open Kitchen attended the 10th year celebration event and will be working closely with Self Help UK–Macmillan to support our service users with Beyond Diagnosis cancer care. 💙

Last week we attended the 10th year celebration event of Self Help UK's beyond diagnosis cancer support service! 🎉 Since 2015, they have been a consistent source of support for individuals living with cancer and their loved ones across Nottinghamshire. 💙

Big hearts and curious minds! 💙 We had a visit from some amazing students from Nottingham Girls’ School. They toured our space and interviewed the manager, Imran Khan, with some seriously thoughtful questions.

We serve meals – and we serve our community! 🙌 Having a good relationship with our neighbours is extremely important to us. 💙 That’s why, as part of our community work, we dedicate a day every month to street cleaning!

Good news from the Open Kitchen Nottingham today - Chris, who has been a service user for over a year, came in today to inform us that he started a full time job this week and to thank us and the donors for all the help when he needed it! 😀

Giving water is a blessed act of charity! In Islam, there is a famous hadith where the Prophet (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud] If anyone would like to donate any water, please do get in touch with us at 07890584506. 🌟

We received a very generous donation of 768 bottles of water this week from a brother asking us to make du'a for peace across the world and for his family.
