The "hook" is crucial because it's designed to capitalize on the human mind's survival mechanism. Humans are innately predisposed to make quick judgments and assumptions in survival situations. Emotions play a critical role in this process because it helps people draw upon past experiences and existing values to make rapid decisions. Marketers need to do in-depth research in order to understand what past experiences and pre-existing values their target market has to use as leverage.

Do you understand how people make decisions and how you can provoke that in your niche? Humans are not rational and make decisions based on emotions and then justify it with logic. Emotions help people quickly access past experiences and things they already care about to make rapid assumptions. These instant assumptions vastly influence whether someone will purchase what you have to offer them or not.

Attention isn't everything, but it's a crucial component of marketing. Attention is what lets a great pitch and product scale. Quality is important, but it's useless if no one notices.

Busywork feels productive. But without having specific targets, you’re just wandering aimlessly, not progressing. Clarity is what turns effort into valuable outcomes.

@mskoriwilson As marketers, we do a lot of background research, but we never show anyone. Someone who buys sausage doesn't want to see how it was made in the factory.

Nobody will understand the work you're putting in. But they will admire the results.

@DougKennedy93 Getting attention is one thing. Being able to inspire trust and make the reader believe your services can help them is another. Both of these are their own separate art that go hand in hand.

You don’t have a lead problem. You have a trust gap.

When you're building a brand, you have priorities. And you also have negatives that you need to cut out in order to let your brand take off with less weight. But entrepreneurs often have a hard time letting go of good things that aren't a priority. Those also need to get cut as well. Double down on what actually matters. Avoid busywork.

Marketers don't sell a service. They sell the reason WHY customers will buy the service. Marketers sell the deepest, desirable outcome to a target market.

Friction will kill your sales! Is your landing page too wordy? Does your funnel have technical difficulties navigating? This can absolutely make or break a sale. Humans take the path of least resistance.

If you want better results in sales, you have to start looking at it from the customer's rather than the marketer's perscpective. Sales is not about you. It's about finding out what your market wants and giving it to them.

You can’t create desire out of thin air. No amount of marketing will force desire. Effective marketing doesn’t invent a want. It identifies what niche market already wants and makes it feel more urgent, visible, and attainable.

How to optimize marketing? Test, test test! After testing, you can pick what works well and keep doing that.

The most important aspect of growing your brand is "consistency". People and the algorithm reward reliable and consistent action.

Having the "perfect plan" is not required to get started in marketing. The perfect plan is a pipe dream. It's never going to happen. Plan within reason and start testing. Adjust if you must.

Business requires putting in consistent work now to gain the benefits later, just like how a farmer plants seeds that will blossom for harvest in the future. The work you do now is not meaningless. The fruits of your labour will be required for future business endeavours.

Taking imperfect action is much more preferable than no action. Action gets you closer and closer to perfect results. Keep taking action consistently.
