Hawaii has been slammed by severe flooding and historic rainfall this month. Many mountain locations have seen 20–40 inches of rain. Towns like Lahaina and Kahului have received a year's worth of rain in just 10 days, much of which fell in a single 48–72 hour stretch.

Some of my car rental customers have been stuck on Lāna‘i for 3 nights. No flights or boats in or out 🌧️🌧️🌧️ We are gifting them the cars to use until they can leave and our crew are housing them for the nights. Bc in the islands we take care of each other 🥰🙏

Hawaiʻi — we are still in this. A statewide flood watch remains in effect through Sunday, and today continues to bring the risk of major flash flooding, especially on Oʻahu and across Maui County.

Council member Keani Rawlins-Fernandez shared this video of extensive flooding on Molokai. Part of the island is under a flash flood warning until 3:45 p.m. with more rain expected in southeast areas of the island.
