@LauraSavino747 @MCCCANM A detaching engine makes this more like AA191 in 1979. In this case there seems to be less asymmetric lift, so the left slats and flaps likely stayed out. But the remaining two engines somehow could not lift the airplane in the air.

@MCCCANM Uncontained engine fire... still had two good engines. Looks like the fire burned through the wing. Eerily similar to the Concord loss.

[as some have pointed out in the replies, GHG emissions pkm from cars can be equivalent or higher than planes depending on the vehicle, the country, vehicle occupancy, and whether radiative forcing is considered so the survey question is a bit clumsy]

This confirms that the public don't know how carbon intensive air travel is. Only about half of respondents in high income countries correctly answer that the "GHG footprint of plane is higher than car or train/bus". Just 41% in the US! cleanenergywire.org/factsheets/shaโ€ฆ
