That girl is a MINOR!
How much louder do we have to scream that, there’s is no such thing as consent when it involves a minor.
How much more can we emphasize, re-emphasize, and even overemphasize this?
@kodua_appiah@BaebyYaa My knowledge of the law and the Constitution allows me to discuss and debate legal provisions, provided I am not engaging in legal practice. Legal opinions are not exclusive to lawyers.
@kodua_appiah@BaebyYaa Everyone is entitled to an opinion on the law and it is constitutionally protected. A law degree and admission to the Bar gives you the license to practice law and represent clients before the court.
@kodua_appiah@BaebyYaa The law recognizes that teacher-student relationships involve a power imbalance because teachers exercise influence and control over students. The argument here is that, the existence of that position of trust brings the student’s “consent” under scrutiny.
@PhilEssien@BaebyYaa Criminal law is very strict and statute based. There is no room for presumptions . The Prosecution would have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that consent wasn’t given. You can’t presume that a crime has happened merely because of power dynamics .
@CAkpilima@kwadwosheldon Nope! She insisted the kids were “nkolaaa boni” and most of want it. This statement alone nullifies any instance of her “condemning the teacher”. Her energy in the entire video was toward the student. In any other organization, she would have lost her job.
@PhilEssien@kwadwosheldon Mistakes happened but you taking what she said clearly out of context.
All she wanted was to acknowledge and not disregard the fact some of the young ladies in the SHS are also bad.She never tried to protect the Teacher. She condemned what happened Please let's criticise better
