@johnamundell @WUSTL The Wash U paw paws are part of its wonderful arboretum lovingly designed by the late Dr. Stan Braude of the Biology department. His memory will live on in the trees and plants throughout the campus.

I found the elusive pawpaw tree on @WUSTL’s campus with the help of my colleague @ProfRafia. It’s the only tropical fruit—in the banana family—native to North America. It tastes like soursop, mango, pineapple, and banana. Cliff says it tastes like a milder version of durian.
