Novak Djokovic has been transported to a quarantine hotel in Carlton where he arrived a short time ago. It’s understood he’ll depart on a flight later tonight. Whilst he’s being deported, he can re-apply for a Visa - although that now appears increasingly unlikely #AusOpen

@rupert_pearse Do we know who the very sick / people who die are? Are they broadly unvaccinated? Or, if vaccinated, immuno-suppressed? i.e. do fit vaccinated people get seriously ill?

@ashishkjha One block is getting the 18-25 year olds to be vaccinated. Our govt, against their natural instincts is talking about making vaccination compulsory for night club entry. Very ‘un-conservative’.

I know I sound like a broken record
But here's the thing
The vaccines are largely working as expected
We had an outbreak in P-town with lots of vaccinated folks infected
No one died. Very few got sick
And things have returned to normal

The vaccines are working. Of the 900 cases related to the Provincetown cluster, there have been no deaths, 7 hospitalizations, and the symptoms are largely mild. Our positivity peaked at 15% on 7/15 and was only 4.8% yesterday. The outbreak is contained and Provincetown is safe.

This woman hit my car. Her husband was nasty & tried to intimidate me. 5 men in plain clothes jump out of the car to help because he was so awful & he shouts "Don't get involved, I am calling the Police."
They whip their badges out and said "We are the Police, leave her alone."

@trishgreenhalgh I find this very convincing, thank you Trisha. Evidence that wearing a mask would help me might be weak, but evidence that it might protect others if I was unwittingly excreting virus makes a clear case for wearing them.
