"We don't want to demonise Indians. There are good Indians who haven't gamed the system and cheated. But a lot of people want to pause immigration while we let American-born workers get off the sidelines and get good paying jobs," says ex-US Ambassador Sands appointed by Trump

Just to be clear, I'll never blackpill on India. I'm long India. But our vulnerability warrants introspection and course correction. I'm old enough to know that India can change :)

American analysts are so used to pretending that corruption is a third world issue that it takes a third worlder to see what is in front of our eyes.. it is all about the loot. Some low level CIA analyst had 40 million in gold bars, this gold mine cannot be left to "national security experts".. a professional who knows how to smell out money making opportunities has been sent to take charge..

India’s one border state Chief Minister used to keep the daughter of a Pakistan Army General as his mistress in the Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh, while the Chief Minister of another border state used to give long interviews and lavish feasts to lady Pakistani journalists in the state guesthouses in Delhi. One of India’s Foreign Ministers became so involved with a Pakistani lady journalist that his own wife died because of it, and the deceased wife’s friend stood up in court to declare that the Foreign Minister used to spend time with that Pakistani lady journalist in Dubai. Now just think — can anyone even imagine today that Yogi Adityanath would keep any Pakistani lady journalist as his mistress in the Chief Minister’s residence, or that Devendra Fadnavis would give long interviews to Pakistani female journalists inside his own house in Mumbai, or that Jaishankar would marry a Pakistani lady journalist? Today even thinking such things is considered a crime, whereas before 2014 all of this used to happen openly.

What's this guy talking about? The wells we see in backyard of Indian homes, the brick houses, the bullock carts, the rangoli, the co-existence with wild animals, the bangles, the pottery, the toys, the ditches on the side of roads, the use of millet, the textiles - so much hasn't changed in India since Harappan times. Perhaps no other civilization has such an unchanged continuous history for some 7000+ years preserving itself and its dangerous wild animals as well. If a Harappan time travels to present day India, he will instantly feel at home. Albeit scoff at the bad sanitation and cleanliness of our modern towns, I am sure.

Pakistan Food Scam #1: Himalayan Pink Sea Salt When we think of Himalayan pink salt, we imagine it coming from some pristine location in Tibet or Nepal, but the overwhelming majority of it comes from a single salt mine in the PUNJAB REGION OF PAKISTAN! Pakistan markets Himalayan pink salt as a pure, mineral-rich alternative to refined table salt. However, independent testing found widespread heavy metal contamination, particularly lead and arsenic. Most Himalayan pink salt comes from the Khewra Salt Mine in Pakistan. This ancient deposit, formed from a dried seabed roughly 250 million years ago, contains iron oxide (giving it a pink color) along with other minerals—but also naturally occurring heavy metals from the earth's crust, such as lead, arsenic, and cadmium. An independent test commissioned by Mammovation, a U.S.-based consumer advocacy group, found: * Lead: Detected in 96% of the pink salt products. Levels varied widely, with some premium brands reaching as high as 553 parts per billion (ppb). Many samples showed levels in the 200–500+ ppb range. * Arsenic: Found in 100% of the samples. Concentrations typically ranged from about 7 to 82 ppb, with 74% exceeding 10 ppb. * Aluminum: Present in 78% of products, with 35% showing over 100,000 ppb (equivalent to 100 ppm). * Cadmium: Detected in 70% of samples. These results are particularly concerning because they show higher heavy metal loads than those of highly refined table salt, even though many of the tested pink salts were premium or "wellness"- branded products sold at higher prices. Because so much of the global supply comes from the Khewra Salt Mine, the natural heavy metal (lead, arsenic, etc.) is consistent across most brands found in supermarkets. Price, branding, or packaging rarely changes the origin — it is largely the same ancient seabed deposit being mined, processed, and exported under different labels. When buying Himalayan pink salt, you are almost certainly buying salt from the Khewra Salt Mine or its immediate Punjab region in Pakistan. This makes the issues of geological contamination and supply chain transparency particularly relevant for regular consumers.

Mueller openly wrote Yaska and Sayana don't know what they are doing. And here, we have another example, Panini is ignorant. While they are fallible and human, the question would be, why didn't the 2500 year Indian tradition bring out all these. Why exactly did it happen that the generation armed with dictionaries and was known for its gaffes got this right but not the millenia old Indian tradition. x.com/avzaagzonunaad…

No-one said Pāṇini or Yāska was “clueless”, only that they had missed some things or had an understanding of topics that can now be improved upon. Happens all the time in scholarship. If you actually thought of them as human scholars, rather than infallible prophets, this ...

In an extraordinary spectacle from West Bengal, money collected as Cut Money by those associated with TMC is being returned to villagers in open fields. Why in the open? Because public anger is boiling over and the fear of arrest is real. This was the true state of governance in West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee.

I can name plenty of IIT graduates who struggle to lead even themselves, let alone others. Judging leadership potential primarily through an IIT credential is a deeply elitist view and overlooks the many qualities that actually make effective leaders.
Amit Malviya@amitmalviya

Prime Minister Modi holds a postgraduate degree, but that is beside the point. The real issue is that some people, particularly Arvind Kejriwal, seem unable to reconcile themselves to the fact that a man from a humble background, with no dynastic privilege or elite pedigree, rose to occupy India’s highest elected office through hard work, political acumen, and immense public support. India’s political history is full of examples that prove leadership is not determined by degrees alone. K. Kamaraj, with limited formal education, transformed Tamil Nadu and pioneered the expansion of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, bringing millions of children into schools. His legacy continues to shape India even today. On the other hand, many who proudly flaunt their educational credentials have little to show for them in public life. Arvind Kejriwal, who never tires of advertising his educational qualifications, left behind a government mired in corruption allegations and administrative failures, eventually losing both his own seat and his party’s grip on Delhi. Others who claim impressive academic pedigrees have spent decades in public life without producing outcomes remotely commensurate with the aura they seek to project around their degrees. The question is not whether a Prime Minister is “educated.” The question is whether he can lead, deliver, inspire confidence, and improve the lives of millions. By that measure, the verdict belongs to the people, not to self-appointed gatekeepers of intelligence. What makes Kejriwal’s remark particularly revealing is its underlying elitism. It reflects a belief that only those from certain backgrounds, institutions, or social circles are fit to lead. India has repeatedly rejected that mindset. Our democracy allows ordinary Indians to rise to extraordinary heights, and that is precisely what some among the entitled elite find difficult to accept. Kejriwal built his political career promising a “new kind” of politics. What the country witnessed instead was a familiar cocktail of hypocrisy, opportunism, and broken promises. He misled supporters, betrayed allies, and squandered the moral capital with which he entered public life. If anything, his political journey is a reminder that degrees may certify education, but they are no guarantee of wisdom, integrity, or leadership.

Yes, this unequal representation of knowledge about India was colonialist and still continues. No Asian or Indian will ever be quoted as authority on any subject either world history or any regional history or current politics. The sad thing is Indian media and academia still caters to this imperialist narrative quoting the same as authority instead of looking inward and finding the truth.
HindolSengupta@HindolSengupta

Once again today people are angry about a provocation on Shivaji Maharaj. But ask this - can you think one a single non-Western person who would ever be quoted like this as ‘authority’ on any Western historical subject? No. Now some will say because non-Westerners have no
