@Lewchube I just found out yesterday that Ethan isn't the same as Jimmy, in the very least in the anime canon. They both appear separately and have different names in both Japanese and English (Kenta and Hibiki)

Ethan and Lyra in HGSS were actually the first Pokemon protags not to be designed by Ken Sugimori, and instead by Takao Unno, director of Pokemon Black 2 & White 2. Kris' design was not considered when creating Lyra.
