Wiz' NFL Upset of the Week 🏈🐴 Indianapolis Colts +3 Spread (-115 HR | 1.15 units) Every week this NFL season, I'm going to try and back an underdog and track how well I do. It was a tough decision for Week 1, as I was between the Colts and Browns. But I finally settled on Indianapolis for 3 reasons: 1) The Colts can pressure Stroud Believe it or not, Gus Bradley's defense was top 5 in Sacks and QB pressures in 2023. In 7 games last year, the Colts had at least 4 sacks. They went 7-0 in those games. Stroud had an amazing 2023, but the area he needs to improve in the most is throwing under pressure. Coming out of Ohio State, that was his #1 criticism from scouts. In Week 2 last year vs the Cols, he has a 40.4 passing grade under pressure according to PFF. Stroud was also sacked 6 times in the game, a season high. When Stroud was sacked at least 4 times in 2024, the Texans were 1-4 2) Divisional Games tend to be close A home underdog in a divisional game always intrigues me. Being a Packer fan, I know that any division game isn't a lock. These are the teams that know each other best, and usually lead to great games. Taking the +3 here gives up insurance of a last second field goal by Houston 3) The Colts looked impressive Week 2 vs Houston The Colts crushed the Texans in week 2 last year without Richardson or Taylor. They won 31-20 in Houston before the Texans really found their groove. But that was in a game Stroud has 384 passing yards in. Houston just couldn't get anything going in the run game, getting only 52 yards rushing as a team If Zack Moss could carve up this Texans defense, no reason to think Taylor will have any trouble. And he didn't in Week 18 going for 188 rushing yards vs Houston. That was with Minshew at QB as well, not Richardson. If the Colts ca establish the ground game early, Houston might night be able to keep with the QB-RB rushing duo of Richardson and Taylor Shoutout @BlaiseBets for giving me confidence in this play.
