The NWS in Las Vegas will be canceling the following zones effective April 16 and creating 6 new zones: CANCELED ZONES: Owens Valley - CAZ520 Lake Mead NRA - AZZ036 and NVZ021 Northwest Deserts - AZZ003. The Las Vegas Valley zone NVZ020 will remain the same as before.

CA | Los Angeles | SigAlert | Traffic collision on the I-10 collector road between the 110 and Hoover | All lanes of the collector and the transition from SB 110 to WB 10 is closed for 1 hour. The main lines remain open.

Due to an active wind driven fire, Gilman Springs Road at Bridge Street will be closed for an unknown duration. Motorists are advised to avoid the area. Road closure updates will be provided.

At some point the NWS in Las Vegas may have to separate the Las Vegas Valley zone and divide it in half since the western valley is more prone to winds and cooler temperatures, especially in the foothills west of the 215 beltway.

New zones: Northern Owens Valley. Southern Owens Valley. Lake Mead NV side. Lake Mohave NV side. Lake Mead AZ Side. Lake Mohave AZ side. Northwest Deserts including Kingman. Hualapai Mountains.

The strongest winds will be over Lake Mohave with waves up to 5 feet possible. Travel along I-11/US-93, I-40 and NV-163/AZ-68 near the Colorado River may be impacted.

NWS VEF has issued a Lake Wind Advisory from 8 PM this evening to 5 PM Saturday for Lakes Havasu, Mead and Mohave. South winds gusting to 35 knots will result in wind waves of 2 to 4 feet.

The streak of 12 consecutive days of record high maximum temps in Las Vegas is over. None of the 7 official climate stations in the Las Vegas NWSFO region set record highs yesterday. The unofficial climate station of North Las Vegas did not set records either.

A new record high minimum temperature of 71ºF, 22ºC, was set at Las Vegas Nevada yesterday. This ties the monthly record last set on March 23, 2004; and breaks the daily record of 63 set in 2015 and 2010.
