@AdamCSchembri In many Southern Sinitic languages the retroflexes developed in Middle Chinese were dropped and thus these sounds are often merged with their alveolar counterparts in the Standard Chinese pronunciation used in the southern parts of the Sinitic area.

I'm tired of studying Indonesian on Duolingo. That's just not what I should be doing to improve it at this point. So for my out-of-spite usage of Super Duolingo, I've decided on another language. Any guesses which one? HINT: It's not a constructed language like English.

@colaceirios You will get the rest of the names along the way. TY Lithuanian has these extensive vocabulary lists at the beginning of every lesson, I think.

I've tried Teach Yourself Lithuanian a few times but never gotten past unit 1 cause the list of nationalities always kills me so this time... I'm just skipping it. me, utilising common sense??! 🤯🤯

While at my parents', I came across the photo album they made for my sister when she turned 25. They made one for each of us at that age. I flipped through the photos. My sister at 1, 2, 3, 4... 12, 13, 14... 23, 24, 25. The end of that chapter became the end. There won't be 28.
