@michuk Very true. Using photoshop we have been able to make documents that are accepted by optical verification tools for years. You need to based IDV on chipped identity documents. AI has beaten AI. Fortunately, European wallet legislation requires eIDAS High for wallets - thus NFC.

You can now generate fake passports with GPT-4o. It took me 5 minutes to create a replica of my own passport that most automated KYC systems would likely accept without blinking. The implications are obvious --any verification flow relying on images as “proof” is now officially obsolete. The same applies to selfies. Static or video , it doesn’t matter. GenAI can fake them too. Photo-based KYC is done. Game over. The only viable path forward is digitally verified identity, like eID wallets mandated by the EU. @pfedprog Some use cases require the full page to be stored. Also, if the document is not chipped we can check the image optically. Please note: our personal app ReadID Me does not store any of that data, not the photo page, nor the MRZ data, nor your other personal data [WJ]
