There is no clear evidence why Paul says this. He’s also writing this a couple decades after Jesus, and to a church in Corinth (Gentiles). So it could have been a cultural thing in the region, and he did not want men looking like women and vice-versa (there were some gender-bending issues back in the Roman Empire during this time). Nothing in the Judaism of Jesus’ day, Second Temple period or otherwise, prohibits men from growing their hair. In fact, they were commanded not to cut their sides of it at the very minimum. In fact, Jews even had something called a Nazirite vow where a man specifically DID NOT cut his hair for a period of time while undertaking an oath. Another post from a guy who has no clue what he’s talking about and thinks he discovered some important theological point that makes him smarter than everyone else 🤦‍♂️
