The official theme for this year's 35th anniversary celebration of Somaliland's independence has been chosen as "Aqoonsi iyo Adkaysi" (Recognition and Resilience). This theme was sourced directly from the citizens of the Republic of #Somaliland after the government, via a post published by the Ministry of Information, provided the public with the opportunity to crowdsource ideas for this year's slogan. Thousands of Somaliland citizens from across the globe participated in proposing themes for this year's May 18th celebrations.
