@eugenereid @Plasticsimpact Longer shelf life. It does drive me crazy though. I hate plastic though. Wish it could just be sold loose without it. Keeping it in water also extends shelf life.

Sorry!! I just do not get this!!?? Why does broccoli have to be wrapped in plastic??? It’s the same with cucumber and loads of other veg!? Can someone explain this to me? #environment #plasticpollution

Grabbing a #growler #refill from the amazing and environmentally conscious @cambrewingco. Though not as popular as they once were with #craftbeer drinkers, reusables have a significantly lower #carbonfootprint than single use containers (even recycled aluminum cans).

@Meganbsully @billmckibben Maybe. They have to remake the cardboard every time. That requires trees to be cut down (if it’s not recycled) and energy used to manufacture the cardboard, potential water wastage, and transporting the cardboard to the brewery. With this program it being reused locally

@billmckibben I bought a 6 pack with a cardboard carrier in Quebec. Wouldn’t that be better? Also Quebec’s bread ties (small square to keep the bread closed and indicate the sell by date) were also cardboard.
