Ok hear me out: this can actually be a GREAT thing for the sprinters. The 1st round is in the morning & will essentially serve as a shake out round [for the ones who have a realistic chance of making the final & getting a medal]. The semi and final are in the evening session, which means PLENTY of rest between 1st round & semi. There is only 1 event in between the semi and final, the men’s 10K. Which will take ~27 mins. So the 2 races are likely to be within 1-1.5H from each other, which is IDEAL. THEY’LL RUN FASTER IN THE FINAL!!! Will they feel like they got run over by a truck the next day? Probably. Will it be worth it? 100% yes.

Guys I’m okay!!! I survived the hurricane. There was no damage to the house or my property, lost a few trees in the yard but I’m good. The parish is devastated tho. Places completely blocked off either by water or downed trees. Ppl are marooned
