Today, we began our twist on the self-propelled car by converting gravitational potential energy into kinetic. Successes, frustration, learning, perseverance, implementation of prior lessons, and fun were all part of the first day!

@KNewtonPhysics I would love to hear some of their feedback (that's realistic), but also a little jealous that your last name is Newton and you teach physics.

My opening question in my AP1 class today was essentially, "It doesn't seem like we're having fun in here. What suggestions do you have for me so that we can successfully learn physics while having fun?" They had some ideas.

Does anyone use @ArborSci spring scales? I was really excited to have the full set of 2.5-50 N for each group, but now I see that when students are pulling on them, the pieces pop apart too easily. Any remedies? Or should I just try to get a better brand next year?
