DAWN Update - Steam Page Released (Wishlist) Hey everyone, After a long silence, I'm finally ready to break it. I know it's been over a year and a half since you last heard from me. I owe you an update, and more importantly, an explanation. Where we're at: The project is done. I've watched it from start to finish multiple times now. What's happening right now is the final integration of all Kickstarter rewards, implementing backer names into the world, and wrapping up the audio mix with our sound engineer. 100% of the visuals are complete. T he only remaining tasks are minor text adjustments where backer names will appear, but all major physical integrations for higher tiers are already in the episodes. On the music side, I still have a few recording sessions scheduled with live musicians, but everything is already planned and locked in. I can already tell that the soundtrack should please those of you who liked my previous work, even though this time, it sounds darker, due to the nature of the story. Expect more low synths, pulses, blended with fast-paced orchestral sections and some epic percussions, drums and vocals. Why the silence: We came close to releasing several times. We had dates. But every time, something came up internally. T he team has changed quite a bit since the beginning, especially on the 2D side. Beyond the people you already know, I want to take a moment to thank @MinuraNakatawa, who handled the vast majority of the 2D visuals in Dawn, as well as @Ashen_Lilly (ashen.lilly on tiktok and instagram), who joined later but contributed immensely to the 2D art on many episodes and additional shots. And I want to especially thank Nadir Francesco Sanna, who animated nearly all of the 2D sequences. Without these three artists who joined the team along the way, this project would have never made it to the finish line. Even if you already know the team behind Dawn, I still need to mentioned all the others artists, and thank them for their contributions : @mobiusu14, @flyawayn0w , @anizeamestoy , Calvin Romeyn, who have been here from the beginning, as well as @LuzaitisActual. The real reason for the delay: We promised you a 30-45 minute product, split between music and animation. We're delivering a complete animated feature of over two hours. That's on me. I got carried away with the story. I pushed everyone, myself included, because I wanted to deliver something that lived up to what you believed in when you backed us. I also modified the script initially written by Matt to fit my vision better, which added time but was necessary to deliver what I felt this project deserved. With limited resources and a small team, we somehow pulled off a multi-episode animated feature that's over two hours long. It's still exactly what we promised (aviation-based, the Zodiac story, all of it), but I pushed it further than initially planned. What's next: I'm making this announcement now because I'm certain we're reaching the end. Everything is in place. The Steam page is now live and you should be able to wishlist Dawn Aerowar: store.steampowered.com/app/2991650/Da… You'll notice it says "2026" without a specific date. Two reasons for that: First, this is my first time releasing something on Steam. Beyond directing, editing, and handling the creative side, I'm also building the technical side (the player, the build, the program that will run Dawn). Second, I want the release date to come with a proper trailer, and I want to be 100% certain everything is locked before I commit to that. I don't want to risk another delay. But we're close. Really close. A final word: I'm sorry for the radio silence. During all these years, I dedicated every bit of free time I had to this project, trying to keep momentum despite setbacks and the realities of coordinating a small, part-time team. I'm excited (and the whole team is too) for you to finally see what we've been working on. Now, I'm going to go quiet one last time to finalize everything that remains, finish those last recording sessions, lock the build, and make sure we're truly ready. But now that I'm certain the project is reaching its end, I feel more comfortable sharing smaller, more frequent updates about the final tweaks so you're not left completely in the dark. You'll be able to follow along with this last stretch of development leading up to the long-awaited final release. Dawn is rising soon. @JosePavli.
