And just like that it's finished. Thirty two assignments, two portfolios, countless ridiculously late nights... one Social Work Apprenticeship. Looking forward to registering as a Social Worker in the new year! Flabbergasted that it's a reality!

@SociableSocialW Your work enables the social workers to be able to do that meaningfully too though. Good management/support/oversight makes all the difference. Have a lovely weekend!

@SWApprentice77 I am the same. As a HoS I sometimes think “is this why I do this job to look at annual leave & budgets” Then I go out and see the work out SW are doing and meet the kids and I am revitalised. Some amazing work being undertaken, in often difficult backdrops

Visits with some young people this week have reminded me why I want to be a social worker. Sometimes this job/training can feel a lot and those reasons get lost. So feeling grateful for their reminders! #StudentSocialWorker #SWApprenticeship

Haven’t tweeted in ages; hello Twitter, still here! Student life just gets busy sometimes doesn’t it. Feel I’m settling into my final placement but FAST/child protection teams are a whirlwind. Lots of learning, questions, imposter syndrome and worrying too! #StudentSocialWorker

4/ Compassion is a manifestation of understanding. The very least we can do for parents and kids in this job is seek to understand why they behave the way they do. Seek first to understand before then seeking to be understood!

I would highly suggest everyone adds these books to their child’s book collection! And Grown ups, ya may learn something too!

@SWApprentice77 I think that's pretty standard (or at least I hope it is!!). 18 months out of FAST is a long time- lots of things change! It feels less overwhelming when the portfolio is done and submitted. Always here for a rant/moan/chat etc. xx
