STILL ZERO CONTAINMENT OF OAK RIDGE FIRE CONTAINMENT: As of 9:30 AM, the Oak Ridge Fire remains at 0% containment, according to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) officials. A total of 55 firefighters are currently on scene working to control the fire. BIA officials updated the acreage affected to nearly 800 acres—down from the 1,000 acres initially reported last night by the Incident Commander. The fire continues to grow due to wind conditions and dry terrain. The Complex Incident Management Team, comprised of multiple federal and state agencies, is scheduled to assume control of operations by 6:00 PM this evening (1800 hours). FAMILIES ON READY-STATE STATUS: Families in surrounding areas remain in a “ready-state” for evacuation. Residents are strongly encouraged to stay alert, prepare for possible evacuation, and consider temporarily relocating to ensure their safety. Sheltering with family or friends is encouraged until further notice. Donations for evacuees can be dropped off there throughout the day. DONATIONS STILL NEEDED: •Donations accepted at the Bee Hółdzil Fighting Scouts Events Center. •McKinley Humane Society in Gallup is collecting cat and dog food. NO REPORTED INJURIES OR FATALITIES ROAD UPDATES: Oak Ridge Road is closed. If traveling along Arizona Highway 264, please keep moving quickly and safely past fire areas and avoid stopping on road shoulders. EL PASO GAS & HUNTERS POINT: El Paso Gas Station and Hunters Point residents remain under ready-state evacuation. Navajo Route 12 near El Paso Gas is under close watch. FIRST RESPONDER SUPPORT: Window Rock High School gym remains open to support first responders. LIVESTOCK: Agencies are actively relocating livestock to Window Rock Fairgrounds. For info, call 928-270-8062. POWERLINES: NTUA is monitoring the area; some poles have been damaged. STAY OUT OF FIRE ZONES: Public access is prohibited. FIRE RESTRICTIONS: Stage 1 remains in effect.
