@pollybirkbeck@MklClrk A load of other photos from this session were used for press/pr it seems, you can see it’s actually just a giant photo of a brick wall.
@barneypage is currently skating across the UK (which is fucking crazy) to raise money for @Benraemers_fndn Please visit the link in his bio and give what you can. Fakie crooks, Southwark, Nov’20.
@ryyanlay@thepalominoclub@maxdubler Gonna defend ourselves a bit here: If you read the JJ piece it’s essentialy criticism of The Industry trying to shut down inconvenient criticism.
@thepalominoclub@maxdubler@freeskatemag@VagueSkateMag@greyskatemag That stuff is great and much needed but I’m talking about industry and aesthetic criticism. IMO a big reason people gravitate to forums/comment sections is because unfiltered opinions are refreshing and basically non-existent save a few niche places—obviously many factors there.
@ryyanlay@thepalominoclub@maxdubler Yep understand where you’re coming from and it IS a huge problem re Skate Media. Once you begin ‘critique’ sooner or later that’s going to encompass those hands that are feeding. I suspect a huge % of SM would just stop existing if they lost a major advertiser upset about this.
@SamAshleyPhoto@thepalominoclub@maxdubler@freeskatemag@VagueSkateMag@greyskatemag Yeah fair enough. Sorry this was kind of an off the cuff question in a phone interview, I obviously have never worked sales or for a mag and I know how difficult it is. The thing I was more so getting at is how might we build a culture of more healthy criticism in skate media.
@thepalominoclub@maxdubler@ryyanlay@freeskatemag@VagueSkateMag@greyskatemag I think the big problem here is that traditionally ‘non skate’ ads are a bit ‘fairweather’ so most mags will try and build advertiser relationships with brands that will be there when skateboarding isn’t flavour of the month. Also dealing with non skate brands/agencies is tiresome
@maxdubler@ryyanlay All the UK mags take a critical stance. IMO anyway. @freeskatemag were the only people who would post the Jason Jesse article, @VagueSkateMag's opening page is mostly political and non skate related, @greyskatemag has been a huge champion for mental health awareness etc
On our incredibly long and hot European leg of our What Comes After the Blues tour, 15 years ago, Scout showed up, unexpectedly, at our London gig. We didn't do "Peoria" because she and Jason couldn't remember the lyrics. We did do "Ghost" and it was A+ #TimsTwitterListeningParty
@tabascokid@Photoshop I would’ve thought a ‘legacy layout’ option wouldn’t be *too* hard to implement... how about it @Photoshop ? If we wanted a Lightroom style layout, we’d all just be using Lightroom.
@tabascokid@Photoshop Thanks for the heads up, will avoid this for a while! Found this: If you want to install the previous version of ACR (12.2.1), you can do so using this link:

@SamAshleyPhoto@kylebeachy because they accuse Jason Jessee of racism does not make the article a good one. I can see why it was turned down. the article itself is hateful. Jessee made mistakes, as we all do. this is self righteous witch hunting. we do not need it in skateboarding any more than swastikas.
Thinking about the time when a skateboard magazine had 'second thoughts' about hosting this article on their website, And at least 1 other declined to publish it for reasons 'unknown': freeskatemag.com/2018/06/05/pri…@kylebeachy
