The reason there’s trash in Havana is bc there’s an oil blockade and Cuba has to prioritize hospitals for fuel over trash collection.

I actually remember stomping on a dead rat in the middle of the street in Central Habana. Once, I was at the bus station in Ciego de Ávila. I went to the toilet and the filth and smell was so bad I couldn’t even take a pee because I almost puked in the act.
