He paid, “more than $150,000 on limos, restaurants, hotels, and private boats.” Some of the “finer things” include $7,000 on boat charters on Lake George, approximately $5,000 on 2 visits to Nobu, a hot destination”, $1,300 on a meeting in the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, and $152,000 on five-star hotels. It may or may not be legal but the optics are terrible and how does a politician defend spending his district’s donations by “treating himself royally?” There are certainly more Democrats than Republicans in #NY17. I hope everyone votes for a true public servant rather than for someone who spends your money on expensive whims. #VOTEBLUE2026

March 26th 2025 - 89-year-old Johnny Mathis announced via Facebook that he was retiring from live stage performances due to "age and memory issues which have accelerated." Over the course of his career, Mathis reached the Billboard Top 40 twenty-four times, including two number ones, "Chances Are" in 1957, and his duet with Deniece Williams, "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" in 1978. In 2003, the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences awarded him their Lifetime Achievement Award. Mathis was a star athlete at George Washington High School in San Francisco. He was a high jumper, hurdler, and basketball player. In 1954, he enrolled at San Francisco State College on an athletic scholarship, competing in both basketball and track and intending to become an English and physical education teacher.
