A night celebrating Hollywood’s rising screenwriters. We honored The Gauntlet, the spirit of filmmaking, and unveiled our first 9 Gauntlet Endorsed scripts. Congrats to our first slate of writers who victoriously passed all 3 Gauntlet levels. It’s an honor to share your work with the industry!

Just a reminder that no script competition or coverage service can really guarantee that its readers won’t use AI. But the Gauntlet can. Enter your script at the link in our bio!

Writing a screenplay you care about is hard. Writing one you don't care about is harder. Find your why. Know exactly why you want to tell this story. It will help you know how to tell it, and keep you going when adversity hits. And it will.

If you’re stuck on a scene: Go for a walk. Change your writing location. Skip ahead to the next scene. The problem will still be there tomorrow, but for today, it’s okay to walk away from it for a bit.

Loglines don’t have to be a screenwriter’s worst nightmare when all you need is a better approach. Use the “story equation” to perfect your script’s logline. Focus on just 3 elements: Main character(s) Primary action/goal of main character(s) Antagonist or major conflict/obstacle Summarize only these 3 elements in a single sentence to create your “story equation” and therefore your logline.

In addition to all the obvious reasons quoted by many... The purpose of a Digital Streaming Site should be to BUILD A LIBRARY of films and shows people want to revisit -- Not a wasteland of promising shows that get cancelled before they satisfyingly end (*cough* #WarriorNun).

Netflix's top shows have been losing 30-70% of their audience between seasons 1 and 2. Executives are trying to figure out why. Netflix's second season swoon & more in this week's newsletter: bloomberg.com/news/newslette…

We created a network of 50+ story analysts. We source them, but they actually work for studios and companies like Sony Pictures, Amazon Studios, Netflix, Warner Bros., HBO, Lionsgate, Disney, and more. You can run the GAUNTLET to find out where they agree on your script’s concept, story, characters, dialogue, structure, writing, and marketability.

Screenwriters think that having a bolded slugline will either make or break their script’s style. But it’s really knowing the difference between: there, they’re, and their. (Always do a grammar and spell check before submitting your script anywhere.)

You don’t have to chase the number eight to get your script in the room with serious industry people. All you have to do is enter the Gauntlet. It’s the only system that guarantees direct access to industry gatekeepers who can actually get your script through Hollywood’s door.

When it comes to script revision, here’s some advice from Aaron Greyson, Story Analyst for Amazon MGM Studios, Netflix, and Disney: “Don't be afraid to make wholesale changes. If a script needs another pass, it's often because something foundational isn't working –maybe the point of view is wrong, maybe you're starting the story in the wrong place, maybe your character's arc isn't right for the plot as written. To make a script better, you have to be brave enough to at least consider making some big structural moves.”

This summer, ditch your basic summary paragraph. There’s a better option: the Gauntlet’s interactive report. You receive: ✅ At least 7 professional readers’ feedback on your script, and up to 17 — never just 1 ✅ On-page script notes ✅ Emojis for real-time reactions by professional readers ✅ Actionable feedback on your script’s concept, story, characters, dialogue, structure, writing, and marketability 💪 All to support future revisions and a stronger script.

We all live busy lives. Finding uninterrupted time to write can feel impossible at times. If all you wrote was a decent line of dialogue, you’ve accomplished more than you think.

Tired of a drama script reader analyzing your horror script? Let’s be honest– we all have preferences, including readers. That’s why the Gauntlet system matches your script to analysts who have experience in your script’s genre AND overlap with your gender, race, age, and/or LGBTQ+ status. This ensures your script’s analysts are a diverse crowd that includes representatives of your ideal audience.
