Sources: Arkansas' Chuck Martin is finalizing a contract to be the Associate Head Coach at North Carolina under Michael Malone. Martin --- who worked with Malone many years ago at Manhattan --- was instrumental in back-to-back top-five recruiting classes for the Razorbacks.

Sources: North Carolina intends to hire longtime NBA coach Michael Malone as the school’s next basketball coach. He’s an NBA Championship coach with the Denver Nuggets from the 2022-23 season and has won 510 games as an NBA head coach.

This is probably the best team Tommy Lloyd will ever have at Arizona and they didn’t have enough shooting/experience to make it to the title game. There’s a program he could easily go to with better resources and culture that will give him a better shot each year at a chip.

There has only been one coach in my lifetime that's ever led a team to the Final Four and then taken another coaching job the next week. Who was that coach? Roy Williams. He left Kansas for North Carolina in 2003 after taking the Jayhawks to the title game.

Weekly reminder: UNC has been to three National Championship games since the last time Duke won a Final Four game.
