It was a HOT day at #LCV2023 yesterday for many reasons. So good to talk #safety and #sustainability with our customers, suppliers and research partners in the #mobility market.  Relationships that go back as far as 25 years ❤

Those that know us, know that we are very good at the things that we love. The design and development of protective structures & saving lives by the application of new technologies. The Directors of Simpact will be at #DSEI23 13th-14th September to support our #Defence customers.

The best thing about working for a pure Engineering Consultancy is the diversity of engineering challenges. This is the spread of our consultancy projects for Q2 this year and quite typical. For our customers, this gives valuable technology transfer and a better product.

Our offices will be closed next week for our annual summer shutdown. For just one week starting on Monday 7th, we will all be back on August 14th. Happy Holidays!

This week our CAE team discussing the design of a very special #carbonfibre #composite structure. Commissioned by @cinimodstudio we are assessing and developing a new dynamic lightweight structure that has never been done before and has to work first time!

This week we look back at the revolutionary work done by Simpact investigating the ballistic impact protection of police helmets. Delivered via our in-house CAE tools (FEA, physical testing & composites prototyping) it makes use of our soft armour #UHMWPE R&D. It saves lives!

We get involved in some intriguing work relating to impact design. Here we have rendered a system that we use for energy absorption & crash attenuation but where we have also extended the technical brief to have a bit of fun with AI #nature #honeycomb #bees

From our Niche Vehicle archives. When we helped Mastretta Cars with the safety development of their MXT. Until that Top Gear episode - remember? As there was no CAD readily available for the column, we captured it in 3D using the micoCT scanner @WMGBusiness. It passed, first time

We don’t just crash test cars at Simpact. We drop test anything of value to our clients. This is a commercial drone drop test and part of our aircraft vulnerability work which resulted in our capability to predict both #birdstrike and #drone impact damage to aircraft structures.

From our Niche Vehicle Portfolio. With partners @caterhamcars & @ReynoldsTubing we engineered a spaceframe for the 7 that was 10% lighter whilst keeping the same stiffness. Achieved using #passionate engineering, it delivered the world’s first double butted automotive spaceframe!

Interesting spread of consultancy projects for Q1 this year - Consumer amounting to almost half of our turnover. This can change dramatically & it's this diversity in client project work what we really enjoy also because of the huge potential for knowledge transfer across clients

We engineer advanced solutions for the protection of packaged gases. Solutions that we can visualise in a rendered environment before our customers commit to tooling investment. Solutions that meet certification tests first time (below is from the ISO11117 drop test standard)

We have a diverse team and CAE tools at Simpact to suit the diverse markets that we operate. Including 3 girls which now takes our female/male ratio to almost 40% 💪

We engineer protective helmets for customers in the #Defence, #Industrial & #Consumer markets. From our consumer portfoio is this cricket helmet impact simulation. The helmet shell is CF composite with titanium cage to prevent head injury from a ball with a velocity of 100mph.
