The SuperSonics’ return to Seattle may be closer than ever. When the franchise moved in 2008, Thunder ownership agreed to return the name and intellectual property to Seattle if the the city gets a new NBA team.

This starts the NBA's 32-team expansion process. Multiple high-ranking officials have termed expansion as "when, not if." Now the NBA will examine Seattle and Las Vegas bids over the next several months, and whether to execute the new franchise purchases now or in a few years.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has approved a vote for the league to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, sources tell ESPN. A bidding process is expected to generate offers in the $7-10 billion range for each team.

The competition committee has proposed a one-year rule that would allow the NFL Officiating Department to correct clear and obvious missed calls that impact the game in the event of a work stoppage by referees.

That is some wild reporting by NFL Network on the Travis Kelce deal. It's a one year $12 million deal with an extra $3m available through incentives. Definitely not a 3y/$55m deal LOL

For context and clarity, Travis Kelce’s contract with the #Chiefs includes a trigger date next June that exists strictly for cap purposes. He does not actually have another two years and $40M+ coming to him after this season.
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate

The #Chiefs’ new contract with TE Travis Kelce is structured as a 1-year, $12M deal with another $3M in incentives, with additional years included for cap purposes. If Kelce wants to continue playing after this season, the deal will be renegotiated next year. As currently structured, it’s set up for this to be his final season, after which he would retire — allowing the cap hits to be spread out over those added years.

@JustinRTBColts They probably had that space bc they were assuming they were about to have a Trey Hendrickson level contact in place. They could make a trade for Greenard or Sweat to fit in with that freed cap but I wouldn’t say it’s imminent at this point. I’d love to be wrong.

I do get the sense that the Colts are gunna make a big move of some sort. Perhaps even something we don’t see coming. What it is? Not sure. But they were very proactive in making sure they freed up cap space for THIS year - why do it without the intention of making a splash?

Colts spent a fair amount of cash, but because many of those contracts have cap hits around $1M, they don’t significantly impact the salary cap. Cap is calculated using only the top 51 highest cap hits on the roster.

As the Colts’ roster currently stands, both Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Akeem Davis-Gaither have a chance to start this season. Davis-Gaither would be a clear starter at LB while Westbrook-Ikhine would compete with Ashton Dulin for a starting WR role. Still a long way to go and more moves are expected, but both give the Colts solid depth options at worst and starting upside at best. Really like both signings for Indy.

The Colts have signed WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and LB Akeem Davis-Gaither. Westbrook-Ikhine is a big-bodied receiver who spent the 5 seasons of his career with the Titans before playing for the Dolphins in 2025. 137 catches for 1,862 yards and 19 TDs in 6 seasons. Davis-Gaither spent 5 seasons with Lou Anarumo in Cincy before becoming a starter with the Cardinals last year. Posted career highs in tackles (117) and PDs (5) while adding an INT and FF.

Ok signings. Happy to see them at least do something lol. Wouldn’t say they’re ceiling raisers. But solid enough. LB needed literally anything lol.
