Many thanks to Brian Hodgkinson for Saturday's excellent talk on the Louth Church Warden accounts of the Tudor period from before, during and after the Reformation. As usual cake was provided this time by Chris Morgan with Denise executing the decoration!

Our good friend, Ray, gave an excellent talk on John 'Longitude' Harrison who, although Yorkshire born moved to Lincolnshire at an early age. Ray described John's early career in clock making, his search for accuracy culminating in him winning the Longitude Prize. Thank you Ray

Many thanks to Paul Hildreth for last Friday's excellent talk on building stones. Paul qualified with a degree in geology & has worked within this sphere, including 30 years teaching. He illustrated his talk with many examples of buildings in local stone. Come again Paul!

A welcome return of Andrew & Victoria Mcdonald who ran an enjoyable workshop to make witches bottles! Enthusiastic members of the Horde made some excellent specimens and we now forward to seeing them after they have been fired at the Pot Shop. Many thanks Andrew & Victoria

On Tuesday lunch time 10th February our Sandwich Filler Talk was entitled The Mediaeval Body: How it worked. Prof Lynda Payne gave an excellent & entertaining talk full of interest on how the human body was understood for many years up until the arrival modern medicine & ideas

@friendschurches A lovely church in a beautiful setting in the Lincolnshire Wolds. We love it

In the 1970s, this tiny medieval church faced the prospect of demolition. Thankfully we saved it from that fate and it is now cared for by an active and loving group of volunteers. 1/10

Last Wednesday our Zoom talk was 'Witches in Lincolnshire' by Rory Waterman who has been heading up a fascinating folklore project in Lincolnshire & this talk is one aspect of his research. A very interesting talk. Many thanks Rory.

Many thanks to Andrew & Victoria MacDonald for their interesting talk entitled “An introduction to East Asian ceramics”. Andrew & Victoria of “The Pot Shop” on Steep Hill in Lincoln have run pottery workshops for the Horde so are well known to us. Here are some screenshots.
