I say this to be referential but I actually mean it. There are a handful of good content creators in the space but the ones who get the most traction appear to be shills and attention seekers, dorks. Jesters trying to create hype moments without any aura. In Comic Book Culture we have the most legendary stories at our disposal that are packed with parables and lessons that teach us how to be heroes ourselves and the steps it takes to get there. That’s what needs to be highlighted: those who exemplify heroism, instead of those who valorize consumerism. It leaves you to question, what value is provided from all these hype reaction videos besides cheap advertisement for the studios? What do you learn? What do you gain from watching? If influencers truly influence their subculture then that subculture and the product of it will reflect the way they present themselves. Why is that guy crying in a Superman suit? That’s how we end up with Superman movies like that embarrassment from last year. I’ve been a part of this culture for a long time but it got to the point where I was so misrepresented by the most viral of creators that I had to take matters into my own hands. By relinquishing my anonymity, I sought to provide some authenticity, credibility, and dignity to one of the largest cultural pillars of society, Comic Book Culture. I’m aware my channel is small for now, but the goal is to bring you with me on this self improvement journey through highlighting the lessons espoused by comics and their films, while leaving behind the insincere degeneracy of fanboying and jestering for studio access.
